This good-sized villa provides a convenient base from which to explore these world-class vineyards, while the medieval city of Siena, with its famous piazza where the Palio is held each year, is also within easy reach. Quercegrossa, a village with a few shops and restaurants, is just a short drive away, so you can spend some evenings eating with the locals, and others dining on your terrace overlooking the private pool.

A traditional stone-built villa, Bellosguardo commands panoramic views across the private pool to the vineyards beyond, especially from its shaded terrace. Inside, the spacious living areas have bold splashes of colour, and tasteful antique furnishings, with eye-catching features such as open fireplaces and exposed brickwork. The three bedrooms are a good size and the master has its own terrace. In the evenings, you’re bound to find a good read on the well-stocked bookcases and there’s even a piano for the musician in your group to play.

The owners live next door and have a dog and a cat. Bellosguardo has an additional guest apartment with a separate entrance. This is occasionally used by the owners’ family and their guests. They do not use the swimming pool and are respectful of the To Tuscany guests’ privacy. This apartment does not overlook the main villa. It does overlook the pool, but only from a distance. The owner has installed a retractable gate to the upstairs bedrooms which restricts access for pets which must remain on the ground floor.
