Pour yourself a glass of ruby red wine, step into the garden to take a seat and gaze at the Chianti hills rolling away to the horizon. There, among the gentle slopes patterned with vineyards, where sunkissed grapes are transformed into some of the finest wines in the world, is all you need for a wonderful holiday. In the lazy days to come you will visit cellar doors to sample vintages at source, stroll the old streets of the historic wine towns of Radda, Gaiole and Castellina, and linger over long lunches and dinners at authentic tavernas appreciating the winemakers’ expert creations along with delicious local food. Siena and Florence will prove to tempting for a day out, too.

Your base will be this wonderful villa for six, which balances modern sophistication with historic integrity. Inside, a large living area flows through the heart of the property, crafted to provide spaces for cooking, eating and relaxing. Tucked around the cosy heart of this one-storey house are three en-suite double bedrooms, two of which have with their own sitting areas. It’s light and bright throughout, decorated in white and soft pastels, with muslin window drapes and contemporary furnishings, and traditional touches such as the terracotta tiles on the floors and wooden beams on the ceilings. 

Out in the garden there is a refreshing pool set with sunloungers, pergola shades, a dining table and pizza oven, where the others will soon join you to raise a glass themselves to the memorable days to come.
