You will want to spend many evenings eating al fresco in the garden loggia. Here, the eye travels to a distant horizon, sunsets are wonderful and lights twinkle far below in the darkness. The olive- and tree-clad surroundings to the generous private pool are also punctured by glimpses of the plain below, making it a serene as well as secluded spot. Yet, the medieval walled city of Lucca is a short journey and Florence and Pisa are both within easy striking distance.

Casale di Campioni accommodates parties of up to 10 people, making it a very good choice for extended groups of family or friends who fancy experiencing an albeit too brief Tuscan idyll together. A ground-floor bedroom with an en-suite bathroom gives extra flexibility for anyone in the gathering who may have mobility issues, making this ideal for truly inclusive holidays.
