Immerse yourself in the world of wine at this villa in the grounds of Rocca di Montegrossi, one of the finest wineries in the Chianti Classico. Up here on the plateau, the vines and olive trees roll out before you, hemmed by oak forests and rolling hills. Drink in the scene from the pool or over lunch in the shade of the gazebo.

This is a quiet corner of the region, yet the historic wine town of Gaiole and world-famous city of Siena are within easy reach. Close to home, get an authentic feel for the area on a private tour of the winery and at dinner in the restaurant in the nearby village of Monti.

Your villa comprises two old stone buildings converted into an elegant retreat for a party of 10. Climb the stone stairs to the first floor and within the wide loggia you’ll find the entrance. It opens on a large lounge and dining room, with a sleek modern kitchen to the side. Traditional features such as the terracotta floors have been cherished, yet comfort is prioritised – for example, the beamed ceilings are painted white to give a light and airy feel. Classic, quality furnishings ensure this place will never fall out of fashion.

There are three double bedrooms, all with smart en-suite bathrooms. The other two en-suite bedrooms can be found in the cottage and annexe with a separate entrance. Both are similarly sumptuous with their own kitchenettes. The added touch of privacy is typical of the thoughtful approach to this lovely villa. In addition, you'll find a football table under the covered open-air seating area in front of the adjacent cottage and a ping-pong table in the garden.

Although the villa is next to a winery, this is a private spot, where the only passers-by are the workers in the vineyard.

Delivery of freshly baked breakfast items such as croissants, buns and pastries and 5 hours of cleaning are included every day except Sunday.
