A truly amazing villa and well named. The views were simply stunning. We had a few trips out- to Lucca, San Gimignano and Certaldo Alto - but we all preferred to stay at the villa. Whether early morning swimming, reading or just chatting at one of the many seating areas, playing table tennis, relaxing in the hammock, watching the sunset from the jacuzzi.. the place never failed to delight. Cinzia and Stefano couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. We had such a warm welcome from them and they were keen to see that we had everything we needed. They went above and beyond what was expected. Thank you! It was a truly memorable holiday!! San Gimignano is a must - a delightful historic hill top town and only half an hour away. It does get busy and parking is at a premium but it’s well worth a visit for its magnificent buildings, cobbled streets winding through the town, piazzas and exceptional views over the surrounding countryside. Wander off the main streets for eating - cheaper and more authentic. We ate at Il Feudo which was full of Italian diners (always a good sign) and had dishes suitable for vegans. Certaldo Alto is another delight. We visited in the evening, the walls of the ancient buildings a warm gold in the evening light, and ate at Da Messer Boccaccio. We sat in the courtyard, flowers and plants trailing the walls from terracotta pots. The pizzas were absolutely delicious, the salad fresh and the red wine of the house soft, dry and fruity.
Thank you for your amazing comments. We are so delighted that you enjoyed your stay which sounds like it went above and beyond your expectations. We look forward to seeing you in Tuscany again soon.
