Villa La Stella

Spy Elba and sigh. Villa La Stella is a gorgeous country house set in a stunning location on the Tuscan coast, near the lively town of Bagno di Gavorrano. The villa's elevated position affords superb sea views out to the Isle of Elba. A generous size, the property is well-suited to a multi-generational family group, and will easily accommodate up to nine guests, from grandparents to grandchildren, in its four bedrooms. The open-plan lounge and diner create a sense of space, augmented by the French doors onto the garden. Antique flourishes are found in the fireplace and writing tables, and traditional features such as exposed ceiling beams and windows latticed with terracotta tiles have been preserved, while comfortable wicker chairs offer touches of vintage charm.

The interiors might be delightful, but soon enough you'll be lured outside to enjoy some time on one of two covered terraces - one at the front of the villa, the second at the rear - both of which are perfect for dining al fresco. The garden features a graceful lawn studded with mature trees and a hammock in which to steal a snooze - and, of course, a lovely private pool set in a paved terrace, the ideal spot in which to sit back and admire the landscape falling away under a cloak of clustered pines.

Daily breakfast and extra cleaning service available on request for an additional charge. For an extra fee, guests can take a large parasol, two sun loungers and a chair to the beach at Follonica between 1 May and 20 September - please book in advance.
